#111 – How meditation improves your lung air flow
Our lungs are our most important organ as far as the respiratory process is concerned. Unfortunately, many people take breathing for granted as it is an instinctive and involuntary activity. Here we will discuss how meditation improves airflow to the lungs and why it is so important.
Meditation promotes diaphragmatic breathing. The diaphragm is a lobe found below the rib cage and when a person breathes, it should rise up and down in the same manner as observed in sleeping babies. In meditation, the person is required to breathe through the diaphragm the right way. Your diaphragm will cave in when you inhale to allow air passage to your lungs. When your lungs are filled with air and you exhale, the diaphragm should expand, pushing the air out very efficiently.
Breathing properly is important because it is the only way in which the body can get its supply of oxygen. Especially if you have a breathing condition like asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, etc. More benefits of improved air supply-
•Reduces risks of cancer. This is because cancer is anaerobic, it cannot survive in areas with high levels of oxygen.
•Reduces risks of high blood pressure.
•Promotes weight loss. This is because oxygen burns fats
•Promotes better sleep
•Improves and supplies energy
