Privacy Policy – EOC Institute

Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy:

EOC Institute LLC ("EOC Institute") operates eocinstitute.org and may operate other websites. It is EOC Institute's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, we collect non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how our visitors use the website.

Cookies & Google Analytics

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. We use cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of our website, and their website access preferences. EOC Institute's visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our website, with the drawback that certain features may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

This site uses the Google Analytics system, which sets cookies to track and compile statistics for website visitors. We use this data for compiling reports, monitoring website traffic, improving the site, and improving our products. To learn more information about the information that Google collects, we recommend visiting their in-depth Google Privacy Policy page, where you will find information on all of their services, Google Analytics included.

To opt-out of Google Analytics tracking, use this browser add-on. You can also choose which cookies EOC Institute sets on your device from our cookie management menu.

Google Adwords Privacy Policy

This website uses the Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise on third party websites (including Google) to previous site visitors. It could mean that we advertise to previous visitors who have not completed a task on our site, such as filling in our contact form to ask a question. You may be shown ads on the Google search results page, or a site on the Google Display Network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone's past visits to the www.eocinstitute.org website. Of course, any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.

You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Preferences page, and if you want to you can opt-out of interest based advertising entirely by cookie settings or permanently using a browser plugin. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Conversion Matching via Hashed Customer Data

When you complete a purchase on our website, we may transmit certain information you provided during checkout to Google for the purpose of advertising conversion matching. Specifically, your email address and phone number are processed through a one-way cryptographic hashing algorithm (SHA-256) on our servers before any data leaves our systems. The resulting hash values — not your original email address or phone number — are what is transmitted to Google.

Purpose of Transmission

Google uses these hashed values to determine whether the person who completed a purchase on our site had previously clicked one of our advertisements. This process, known as enhanced conversions, allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising more accurately. Your data is not used by Google for any purpose beyond this conversion matching function under our agreement with them.

How Hashing Protects Your Information

SHA-256 hashing is a one-way process — the hash value transmitted to Google cannot be reverse-engineered to recover your original email address or phone number. We never transmit your raw contact information to Google or any other advertising platform.

Hashed Values - Data Sharing with Google

The hashed values are shared with Google solely for conversion attribution purposes and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google may match these hashed values against hashed data associated with logged-in Google accounts to confirm a conversion event.

Retention

We do not store the hashed values generated for conversion transmission purposes. The hashing and transmission occur at the moment of purchase completion, and no copy of the hash is retained in our systems beyond that process.

Advertising & Conversion Tracking Cookies

We use first-party cookies to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. Specifically, when you arrive at our website via a Google advertisement, we may store a Google Click Identifier (GCLID) in a cookie on your browser. This identifier is used solely to associate your visit with a subsequent purchase, allowing us to measure which advertisements are driving conversions on our site.

Purpose of Collection

The GCLID cookie is used exclusively for advertising conversion measurement. It allows us to determine whether a completed purchase originated from a Google ad click, helping us evaluate and improve the performance of our advertising campaigns. This cookie is not used to build behavioral profiles, retarget you with advertisements, or track your activity across other websites.

GCLID - Data Sharing with Google

When a purchase is completed on our site, the GCLID stored in your cookie may be transmitted to Google as part of our conversion reporting process. Google receives this identifier solely for the purpose of attributing the conversion to the originating ad click. This data sharing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, which can be reviewed at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google that governs how this information is handled on their end.

Cookie Duration

The GCLID cookie is stored on your browser for a maximum of 90 days from the date of your visit. If no purchase is completed within that window, the cookie expires automatically and no data is transmitted to Google. You may delete this cookie at any time through your browser settings, though doing so will not affect your ability to use our website or complete a purchase.

Data Storage & Your Information

The GCLID is stored exclusively in your browser as a first-party cookie and is never written to our databases or servers. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information held in our systems. Once transmitted to Google upon conversion, no copy of the identifier is retained by us.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors who use this website may interact in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that we gather depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for the free demo and newsletter to provide an email address. Those who purchase our products are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, we collect such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with our website. We do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

EOC Institute may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. EOC Institute does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

EOC Institute discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf or to provide services available at our websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using EOC Institute's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. We will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, we disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of EOC Institute, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of our website and have supplied your email address, we may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, ask for your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what's going on with our products. If you send us a request (for example via email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it (anonymously, removing all personal identifiers) in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users (for example, adding your question to the "frequently asked questions" page, or posting your positive feedback about the program anonymously on our testimonials page). We take all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Information Security & Confidentiality

We believe that keeping personal information secure is vital. As such, we keep your personal information safeguarded according to established security standards and procudures, maintaining physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to all personal data information. When our customers enter sensitive information, such as credit numbers, names, and email addresses, it is encrypted using the industry standard SSL and processed through a reputable payment processor (we currently use Stripe.com & Paypal.com). When entering sensitive personal data, such as on an order form or email signup, a lock icon should appear on the browser indicating the entry of data is safe (with regards to the lock symbol's design and location, every web browser is a little different). Of course, when on an unsecure page, the lock icon will typically not show.

Newsletter

When users sign up for the newsletter or to access the free demo, the submitted email address is stored and managed by GetResponse, a third party email marketing service. GetResponse's privacy policy can be found here. If you wish to cancel your newsletter subscription then you can do that at any time using the unsubcribe link located (most often) at the bottom of each newsletter email. GetResponse tracks basic information such as user location (country, state, & city), whether a newsletter was opened, and which links were clicked. This data helps us guage the popularity of the content and helps us make decisions about future content.

Links To Third Party Sites

This website may contain links to third party sites. If you follow a link to any of these external websites, please note that each will have their own privacy policy and that we do not accept responsibility or liability for their policies. Please check the privacy policy of each website to which you submit your data, including those to which we link.

Mailing Policy

When you send us an email, we store your email address and your communication for potential future correspendence. Other than our initial reply, we will never use your email for any unsolicited messages or for unsolicited marketing purposes, nor will we share your email address or sell it to anyone else.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, we may change this privacy policy from time to time, and at our sole discretion. We encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes. If you have an eocinstitute.org account, you might also receive an alert informing you of these changes. Your continued use of this site after any change in this privacy policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
